Inside the Clean Energizer: Quinoa, Hemp and Chia

August 24, 2026

What the Clean Energizer is built for

Not all energy is equal. A sugary drink can lift you quickly and drop you just as fast, while foods that combine carbohydrate, protein and fibre release energy more gradually.

Clean Energizer is built on that principle, using three seeds that digest steadily. The word clean here simply means a short, whole-food ingredient list.

What each seed brings

Quinoa: Quinoa is botanically a seed rather than a grain. It is naturally gluten-free and unusual among plant foods for containing all nine essential amino acids, plus fibre, magnesium and iron.

Hemp: Hemp is the protein seed of the group: it supplies all nine essential amino acids plus unsaturated fats, magnesium and iron. Its flavour is mild and slightly grassy-nutty, so it blends into fruit and cocoa easily.

Chia: Chia seeds soak up many times their weight in liquid and form a gel, which thickens a shake naturally. Nutritionally they contribute fibre, a plant omega-3 fat called ALA, and minerals such as calcium and magnesium.

Quinoa offers carbohydrate and complete protein, hemp adds more protein and healthy fats, and chia contributes fibre and slow-gelling texture. There is also magnesium and iron in the mix, both involved in normal energy metabolism.

Who it suits

It suits people with early starts, long commutes or afternoon slumps, and those cutting back on coffee or energy drinks. It also fits active people who want a lighter option than a full meal.

When to drink it

Mid-morning, pre-workout (an hour or so beforehand) and mid-afternoon are all sensible. Try it instead of a second coffee for a few days and see how you feel.

A simple experiment can show whether the shake suits you. Swap your usual mid-afternoon snack for it on three or four days and note how you feel an hour or two later. If you feel well, keep it; if not, change the size, fruit or timing, and remember that sleep and meals matter more than any single drink.

How to customise it

Banana adds quick fuel, mango and pineapple make it tropical, and berries bring a tart contrast. A milk or oat drink makes it more satisfying; coconut water keeps it light. A Medium 16 oz suits most mid-morning breaks, and a Large 20 oz can serve as a light breakfast or pre-workout meal. Pick the size according to how long it needs to carry you until your next meal. Every Naturalition shake comes in Small 12 oz, Medium 16 oz or Large 20 oz, with a free choice of liquid, sweetener and one fruit.

Who should check with a doctor first

Check with a doctor if you have diabetes or take glucose-lowering medicine, since the shake contains carbohydrate, or if you have kidney disease, a digestive condition or seed allergy. Persistent tiredness deserves medical attention, not just a shake.
